Kaufman 4H

May 10th, 7:00pm. We will be hosting a meet/greet night.  Come out and see what Kaufman 4-H is all about.  We will have on hand several "senior teen" leaders to talk about their experiences in 4-H.  It will be a time to ask questions, learn about what 4-H has to offer and have a chance to meet the officers and leaders of this club.  If you have ever wanted to ask about 4-H now is your time.  Come join us.  North Kaufman water office, located on Hwy 34 heading towards Terrell.  About 4 miles out on Hwy 34 on the left, just past FM 2728 intersection.  Questions, call Judy Braddock 214)499-2997

You were warned....I told you there would be some crazy games at the Christmas Party.  We played put the cotton ball on santa's face.  It was a relay, where each member had to get jelly on their nose and get cotton ball attached to nose, then run to the santa face and place on the beard!!  It was crazy!!!! and we had a great time.  Can't wait until we go to the nursing home and deliver our no-sew blankets.

Another great meeting.  The members learned to make no-sew blankets.  These blankets will be distributed December 21, to the residents at Sun Flower Nursing Home.  We made over 12 blankets that night.  Looking forward to taking these to the nursing home and caroling.
Our club Christmas Party will be December 14, 7:00 pm.  We will be eating and playing games and having a gift swap.  Hope you can attend!!!! Expect some crazy games............

We had a great meeing October 12th.  The officers are doing a great job running the meetings.  Youth were presented at the door and offered toilet paper.  They were told "take as much as you need".  Each person took the amount they needed, without knowing what the real reason of the paper was.  Roll call was taken and each person had to tell the group things about themself, depending on how many squares of paper they had.  We also included the parents, they told us of skills that they had that they could contribute to our club.  It proved to be very imformative and lots of fun getting to know others.  Michelle gave a presentation on "Fun in 4-H" which included her experiences in 4-H.  For recreation we tye-dyed shirts.

I am so proud of our youth!  Nine youth meet at the Kaufman Beautifican Park at 8:00 am.on a Saturday,  to pull weeds and plant flower bulbs. Not only did they pull weeds in our area, but they helped others by pulling weeds in their areas and plant the additional bulbs we had.

Kaufman 4-H held a craft night on Friday 17th.  We had 9 youth attend.  We made pizzas, played games and completed several crafts.  The kids painted small race cars and trucks, made Mod-Pog picture frames, made friendship bracelets, and designed and painted shirts.  We had a great time.  We also had several games.  Be sure to check out the "craft night" pictures on the web page to see how much fun we had.  Thanks Kids, for having fun with me!!!  Disclaimer--I am not responsible if your child attended and they still have marshmellow stuck to their forehead...that stuff just doesn't wash off. lol

We had a great meeting last night.  Pandora Feller Bonner was our guest speaker and she did a great presentation on Cpr and First Aid.  Our new President and Secretary handled the meeting and did a wonderful job.  Great leadership Ladies.
Open for discussion was what to do for "A Day in 4-H" which is a day to give back to our community.  The club decided to plant flowers at the park area around the square on that day.  We hope that this will benefit the entire community and be something pretty to look at.
Our Club is growing rapidly, we had 5 new members join last night!!!!  If you don't have anything to do Friday night, come to the extension office and join us for our Craft Night.  Cos

Our club will be hosting a "Craft Nite", September 17th from 7:00 pm. to 11:00 pm at the County Extension office.  Anyone interested in coming, please call the extension office to reserve your spot.  Cost for the night is $12.000.  Open to the first 20 kids.  We will be making crafts, making our own pizzas and having lots of fun!!!!!

The carwash was a sucess.  Thank you, Michelle, Desi, Jacie, Heather and Aaron.  A special thanks to the "non" 4-H's who came to help, Tiffany, Destiney and Morgan.  We could not have made it without you helping hold those signs for us.  It was hot, but somehow we made it thru.  Thanks also to the man in the BMW who didn't have a flake of dirt on his car, but had us wash it anyway.  And then the gentleman that asked us if we could do anything with his station wagon!  Hadn't seen one of those in ages.  It was a dusty gray when he arrived, and low and behold under all that dirt the car was actually WHITE!  The kids did a great job on that one.

It is a new year in 4-H, and I'm so excited about the opportunities we have for 4-H members.

My name is Judy Braddock, and I am the new adult club leader for the Kaufman group.  We held our first meeting of the year.  There were 15 new members enrolled into our club.  Our club has many fun activites and programs planned for the year.  Come join us!  We will be at the 7-11 Store Saturday.  Come out and get your car washed.  All proceeds go to our Community Service project.
